Bridget Wingate was able to attend the January ACPS meeting in Los Angeles and was kind enough to forward the following report: Los Angeles ACPS Meeting.
A huge congratulations to Melanie White. Her lovely mare, Hillside Sassafras won the top BC open 3'6" jumpers for 2003. She's an 8 year old Alladin mare.
![]() The team consisted of Hillside Sassafras and Brian Morton of Vancouver, BC, Eden's Winston and Tracy Dopko of Stony Plain, AB, Traa Di Lioor Mick and Emily Cena of Westlock, AB, Bien Mallin's Rory O'Sullivan and Chelsea McNeil of Langley, BC and Team Captain Brian Donegan of Drogheda Farm. A special thanks goes out to Melanie White for bringing her two lovely Connemaras all the way from BC. Team Connemara gave the defending Champions, Team Appaloosa, a run for their money this year. In the end, we missed the Championship by only two points, leaving the 3rd place Team Quarter Horse eating our dust twelve points back!! Eleven teams competed in all. We had two of the top six fastest Barrel Racing times, two of the top six fastest Driving time (Emily was #1), two perfect scores in Jumping and the top two scores in Compulsory Skills. On top of that, both of our jumping horses and trail horses were able to successfully complete their bonus obstacles!!
